A WALL OF WELCOME, A DISPLAY OF DISTINCTION

People gather for the unveiling of the new Beckley campus Welcome Wall

Tech grads stand along the new alumni display in Carter Hall.

As promised after the announcement of the campus move to Beckley, the University has recreated the Welcome Wall in Beckley. Funds were provided by West Virginia University, WVU Tech Facilities and WVU Tech Alumni Relations to make this project possible. The work was completed with support from WVU Tech alumnus John Jarrett, Jarrett Construction and WVU Tech Facilities Management. All bricks that were previously purchased and honorary plaques created through the Welcome Wall effort by the Tech Golden Bear Alumni Association have been duplicated and placed on the wall. (The original bricks and plaques remain on the wall in Montgomery.) This wall sits on the corner of campus,in front of the new Barrett-Kelley Athletic Hall of Fame. The Alumni of Distinction display was a project funded by the Tech Golden Bear Alumni Association and the generous support of you, WVU Tech alumni. It is a permanent display on the first floor of Carter Hall that recognizes Alumni of the Year and Nelson Distinguished Young Alumni.
